Associate Attorney – Commercial Litigation - 7+ years of experience

Position Overview: 

We are looking for an experienced Associate Attorney with 7+ years of expertise in commercial litigation to join our expanding firm. This role offers a clear pathway to partnership and a collaborative, team-focused work environment. You'll have access to a steady flow of cases and strong support from our dedicated staff, without the need to chase clients for payments or handle non-billable administrative tasks.

Responsibilities: 

• Handle a diverse caseload of complex commercial litigation matters.
• Conduct legal research, draft legal documents, and prepare for hearings and trials.
• Collaborate with partners and senior attorneys to develop case strategies and tactics.
• Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and the courts.
• Experience taking business disputes to court (contractual disputes, shareholder disputes, oppression, derivative proceedings, property related disputes etc.)

Qualifications: 

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree
• Admission to the Law Society of British Columbia
• 7+ years of experience in commercial litigation.
• Strong academic credentials, including excellent law school transcripts.
• Demonstrated ability to excel in a fast paced, high pressure environment.
• Experience with big law firms preferred.

 Compensation and Benefits: 

• Salary commensurate with experience - aligning with national firms + Bonus
